2542 c S.G. #121b imageS.G. #121b, 1943 £1 Pale purple and black on pale red, perforated 14, bottom sheet-margin single on commercial legal size bank cover to England, registered and sent by air mail, tied by "Hamilton/Bermuda/3 MAY 43" c.d.s., Stanley Gibbons lists the earliest use of this printing as 13.5.43 making this ten days earlier, stamp is in excellent conditiion and attractive, cover has vertical fold and edge wear because of large enclosures causing small tear at bottom, still a scarce single franking of this high value (Scott #128b). 2557 og/nhO S.G. #1/30b Nineteenth century extensive mint and used collection on album pages and extra stock pages with blocks, consists of over 150 singles with the collector trying to obtain different shades and printings of each values in both mint and used, plus 66 mint blocks of four or larger, this collection is limited to only the Queen Victoria designs and the surcharges on those designs ending with the "One/Farthing" surcharge on 1/- Bluish grey of 1901, the unsurcharged values are quite comprehensive with at least one mint and used single of each value and often several of each are present showing different shades, surcharges include three different used "THREE PENCE" surcharges on 1/- Green including a S.G. #13b accompanied by a 1950 RPS certificate, minor faults are present, plus the three different "One/Penny." surcharges complete mint and used, most of the blocks are of the Crown and "CA" watermarked issues, but they start as early as the 1874 6p Dull mauve first issue, these have also been collected for their different shades, minor faults are to be expected on some of the early singles, nearly all mint have original gum, the blocks are quite fresh with some n.h. and never hinged singles are found within many blocks, generally an attractive and valuable collection with the large portion being fine-very fine; total Stanley Gibbons catalog value is over £18,000 (Scott #1/26). Est. 4,000-5,000

2558 O S.G. #1/28 S.G. #1/28, Nineteenth century cancellation collection consisting of 250 stamps with various types of cancellations, the largest portion are different types of numeral cancels that were assigned to the different towns, we note examples from numeral "1" to "19" identified by location, also various types of circular date stamps with town names, some of the smaller towns are quite uncommon, just the used stamps will add up in catalog value, condition varies but many are fine-very fine and a nice lot for the cancel collector (Scott #1/23). 2559 og/nhO 1902-1953 Twentieth century collection balance through the George VI period, several hundred singles and blocks on pages and stock pages, starts with the 1902-1910 Dry Dock issues and includes King George V commemorative issues and the last 1936 definitive issues, King George VI issues include extensive low value definitive issues and commemoratives (no keyplates of either King George V or George VI), each issue is usually collected with several mint singles to show shades and printings, used singles and mint blocks of four and other size blocks, sometimes several of each value, a few varieties are present, plus the first two booklets of this country with George VI values, both are complete but exploded, and there are even a few sets with "Specimen" overprints or perforations, a nice extensive collection of this period with very few faults, o.g. or used, some gum toning will be found on some items, but generally this is minimal, mostly fine-very fine or better and well worth examining. Est. 1,500-2,000

2560 og/nhO S.G. #44-51a, 76b-87a S.G. #44-51a, 56, 58, 76b-87a, 1910-1934 Caravel ship design voluminous and specialized collection containing thousands of stamps in singles and multiples up to full sheets of some values, includes the issues with both watermarks, this collection is a combination of several sources including a collection on pages, plus numerous pages of a specialized collection that were offered as lots in a Robson Lowe auction years ago, and stock books and binders with stamps sorted into them, many of the specialized pages are for the plate varieties that exist on this design, for example there is a a whole series of pages for the 2 1/2p values with a page devoted to each position where mint and used of the 2 1/2p Ultramarine with multiple Crown and "CA" watermark and both the Sage Green and Ultramarine colors with multiple Crown and script "CA" are mounted, each page may have numerous mint and used singles and blocks of various sizes, etc., while throughout the material has been collected both mint and used, emphasis is on the mint and each value has numerous blocks as well singles showing shades, varieties, different die types, especially of the 1p value, there are even some "War Tax" overprinted issues which were issued on the 1p value of this design, there is far too much here to go into great detail but this is an ideal lot for the person who wants to study these issues and build a highly specialized and award-winning collection, condition is overall quite nice, mint has o.g., numerous never hinged items are found within the great number of multiples, and the vast majority of material is fine-very fine or better; a rare opportunity to acquire such a hoard that if totaled would have an enormous catalog value simply by volume alone (Scott #40-48a, 81-93, MR1-2). Est. 4,000-5,000
