Juni 1930" date, contains a pane of six of the 5pf+2pf and two slogan labels and a combination pane of four 8pf+4pf and three 15pf+5pf with an X label, the panes are separated by one unprinted sheet of interleaving, exceptionally well centered and fresh with full unclipped perfs., o.g., n.h. , plus especially clean and fresh covers, extremely fine; the corrected cover was produced at the very end of the run and very few booklets were produced, let alone remain intact making this one of the rarest semi-postal booklets. 1227 BKS Michel MH #35S imageMichel MH #35S, 1934 2M Promotional Specimen complete booklet issued for the 1934 Hindenburg Medallion issue, being the first booklet of this design with the swastikas watermark, this is a promotional booklet similar to one issued for MH #16 (see lot 1207) all aspects of the booklet are the same as the issued booklet except for the panes themselves, including the same black on dark blue cover with numeral 2 and the four sheets of interleaving with postal instructions, the panes have 6.5mm numeral for the denomination and color of each of the issued stamp, most are combination panes of two or more values with a public service announcement in the label of the 6pf and 12pf pane, the interleaving has adhered to the reverse of each pane because of moisture and it is not clear that the panes are on watermarked paper, covers are crisp with slight opening bend and slight rust stains from the staple, otherwise very fine; these promotional specimen booklets were produced for the advertising in them with only ten to fifteen being sent to the district advertising agencies, who contracted out ads for the Reichspost, this booklet contains no private advertising but an agency may have been responsible for the postal instructions or the agency may have used this to sell private advertising in future booklets; this is a particularly rare issue of this specimen booklet because as late as at least 1991 this issue was not listed by Michel and may be the only known example. 1230 BK Michel MH #39 imageMichel MH #39, 1939 2M Hindenburg complete booklets with black on red cover, a set of the five different issues of this booklet with numerals 11 through 15 on the front cover, each booklet contains the same five combination panes of eight with various values from 1pf to 12pf, each pane with a different slogan label, also contains five sheets of unprinted interleaving, this issue is not as uniform in design as others that have more than one issue for the same booklet, the cover of no. 11 is a dark red and the other four were issued with a light red cover, in addition the covers of no. 14 and 15 is slightly different than other three with "Deutsches Reich being longer, panes are well centered and fresh, and we note hardly any clipped perforations in all these panes, o.g., n.h., covers are clean and crisp, very fine-extremely fine. 1231 BK Michel MH #42b imageMichel MH #42b, 1936 2M Olympic Games complete booklet with black on red cover, this being the special booklet prepared for foreign dignitaries and athletes, characterized by a dark red diagonal line on the front cover, plus postal rates in German, English, Spanish and French on the insides of the front and back covers, containing two combination panes of five 3pf+2pf and five 12pf+6pf, and five 4pf+3pf and five 6pf+4pf, one unprinted sheet of interleaving between the panes, stamps are fresh with fine-very fine centering and possessing full unclipped perfs., o.g., n.h., covers are crisp with only a trace of an opening bend, very fine and choice; this booklet was produced in much smaller quantities than the similar booklet for circulation to the general public in Germany. 1232 c Sieger #427Ba var. imageSieger #427Ba var., 1936 Olympic Flight of the "Hindenburg", a necessarily large size cover franked with both complete booklet panes of the Olympic semi-postals (Michel H-Blatt #105, 106), each pane neatly tied by three strikes of "Flug-und Luftschiffhafen/Rhein-Main/Frankfurt/1. 8. 36" c.d.s., red lilac flight cachet, backstamped Berlin, very fine and attractive cover; Olympic stamps used on this flight are particularly desirable and Sieger lists and prices full sets and souvenir sheets as well as just ordinary Olympic franking but makes no mention of booklet panes which are exceptionally rare and unusual, we do not remember seeing this franking before. 1233 og/nhBP Michel MHB #1-9 imageMichel MHB #1-9, 1921 Germania booklet pane sheet collection of nine different plus an extra example of MHB #6, this constitutes all the sheets that were printed to produce booklets MH #14 and 15, these produced nine different booklet panes with denominations from 10pf to 60pf including five different combination panes possessing two different values, each entire sheet contains three panes containing ten panes of six and separated by gutters, condition varies because of their large size and early period, o.g., the largest portion of the stamps are never hinged but some of the sheets have h.r. that are on the selvage and in the gutter, plus some sheets have perf. separations and it is quite usual to be folded in the gutters, largely fine-very fine for these; a difficult unit to accumulate today; housed in large sheet album.
