Vertical pair with "(America)n Bank Note Company, New (York.)" part imprint selvage at top, original gum, small h.r. at top, outstanding centering and vivid color, inconsequential corner crease in selvage at top left well away from the imprint

EXTREMELY FINE. A GORGEOUS AND RARE IMPRINT PAIR OF THE 1891 2-CENT LILIUOKALANI IMPERFORATE-HORIZONTALLY.

The part imprint pair from the Christian H. Aall collection was once attached to the left of this pair and is now in an important collection in Hawaii. The Aall pair, with a light selvage crease and containing a much smaller portion of the imprint, realized $5,750 in 1998 (Siegel Sale 805).
