Dec. 22, 1890" duplex datestamp on cover to Lieutenant Clarke on the U.S.S. Iroquois in Apia, Samoa, purple "Paid All" oval handstamp, endorsed "c/o Consul General", Jan. 1, 1891 receipt docketing on back, top of 2c stamp and top left of one 5c stamp affected by placement over edge of cover, otherwise Very Fine, an outstanding and rare cover to Samoa correctly prepaid at the 12c non-UPU rate to Australian States and Samoa, approximately a dozen reported covers showing the 12c non-UPU treaty rate (Image)
