880 King Kamehameha III documents signed, substantial collection of eighteen 1851-53 Hawaiian language royal patents being deeds to land in Moanalua valley, all have the black negative royal seal inscribed "Royal Stamp" on the front, each is signed "Kamehameha" by the King along with the signature of "Keoni Ana" (John Young), the Prime Minister (Kuhina Nui), all with red royal wax seals next to the signature, though some have eroded away with age, some have drawings of the plot of land being transferred, condition is quite varied ranging from fairly nice with a minimum of toning and flaws for documents of this period to quite toned with separation along the folds and edge tears, one document has the second sheet missing but includes both signatures, most are fine; the quantity belies the scarcity and desirability of these documents, these royal patients were gleaned from the many hundreds of deeds that the Damon Estate had acquired in their acquisition of the Moanalua valley, original royal patents are actually quite scarce and with the king's signature are very popular. Est. $7,500-10,000
