Shreves Philatelic Galleries, Inc. Sale - 41

The November 17-18, 2000 Collector's Series Sale - November 17, 2000

Four exciting private collections and estates are featured in our November Collector's Series Sale. The John Vreeland Collection of gem quality United States stamps provides the sale with remarkably beautiful mint stamps, the vast majority with recent certificates. The Kelly Brothers Collection, formed by two brothers along with their father, augments the sale with many of the U.S. rarities found throughout the auction. And postal card enthusiasts, as well as Private Die Proprietary Match Stamp collectors, will recognize the name and material from the Estate of Robert Bruce Miller. The sale also features exotic and unusual U.S. and British material from the collection of the renowned labor lawyer, Victor Van Bourg. He loved the unusual - Orange River Colony, specialized Sudan, Operation "Polar Bear" postal history, used British Empire, Shanghai covers - just to name a few. Printed catalogs of the sale are available free of charge by contacting: Shreves Philatelic Galleries, Inc., 14131 Midway Road, Suite 1250, Dallas, Texas 75001. Telephone 800-556-7826 or 972-788-2100. Fax 972-788-2788. Email shreves@ix.netcom.com

This sale, as well as most other Shreves sales, is a completely unreserved auction. However, our experience shows that opening prices based upon early mail, telephone, fax and Internet bids often fail to compete successfully with final bids excecuted at the actual Public Auction. That is why we have established "Opening Prices" on all lots - whether we currently have bids on them or not - at 75% of our very conservative estimates of what we believe the lots will realize. Bids below these openings will be accepted, however their chances of success will undoubtedly be very limited. We are always happy to personally discuss your bids with you and to offer our bidding advice. Please call us at 800-556-7856 or 972-788-2100.
